Evolution

Evolution was the first tool released at Paterva by Roelof Temmingh, ex-SensePost founder and was available from: http://www.paterva.com/

It is a great online resource for carrying out initial footprinting of your target network. It can be utilised for the following:

• Standard footprinting (DNS, IPs, domains etc.).

• War Dialing range enumeration.

• Social engineering and Client side attacks Target enumeration.

• Enumerating alternative email addresses for content-based attacks.

• Affiliations with organisations with weaker security postures.

• Mail Harvesting.

• Etc.

It was available in two formats, classic and wizard. A GUI Client also followed.

Unfortunately access to both the site tools and gui were removed mid Aug 07 due to 'cease and desist' notice being served by a large social network.

Personal Note: - It seems a shame that this happened that's not very sociable is it?
 

Evolution has been reborn as Maltego, albeit in slightly different format to comply with the stipulation above.
